Incorporated in 1991, Habitat began in Sequim as Dungeness Valley Habitat for Humanity. In 2006 they moved to Port Angeles and became Habitat for Humanity of Clallam County. They have served over 30 families in 25 years through new home construction, and over 50 families through their Neighborhood Revitalization approach.
I volunteered there before the pandemic and help to restore appliances that were donated. It was fun work. They have since been able to hire someone to do this work.
Habitat is a local treasure in so many ways. They are able to raise money for their construction projects by running a thrift store and through donations. I have gotten many great bargains there, tools and some furniture that I repurposed.
I highly recommend them.
